Chehaw prepares for annual Frontier Event

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Chehaw Park is getting ready for their annual Frontier Event.

The purpose is for the community to experience history. Vistors will see how life was lived in the 1700s through the 1840s.

Ben Kirkland, Chehaw’s Natural Resources Manager, says this event is important for the community because it allows them to teach history in a fun and interacting way.

“In this modern world where everything is just going ninety miles an hour everybody’s got their face stuck in a phone or in an iPad, or in a computer somewhere. Sometimes it is really good to just take a little bit of a relaxing break and realize how different things were before and appreciate what we have today," says Kirkland

The frontier festival will start January 11- 13. It will be from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.
