ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Now that recent showers have seemingly moved out of South Georgia, you may want to do some last minute debris clean up before the end of this week.
The City of Albany has scheduled its last day for debris clean-up on Friday, January 11.
The city of Albany does want to make sure that people know that although Friday is their last scheduled day to clean up debris, they are sending out a petition to hire a contractor to clean up debris.
If you have items such as leaves, storm damage or Christmas trees in your debris piles, they will not pick it up.
“What we want citizens to know is that we are still working on debris," said City of Albany PIO Monique Broughton. "Just because that deadline of Friday has been made, we will continue to pick up debris.”
The city hopes to have a contractor here soon to come in and help pick up all the debris.
