ALBANY, GA (WALB) - It’s been almost three months since Hurricane Michael swept through the region and Dougherty County is preparing to spend the next 18 months repairing the damage.
The county has officially entered its long-term recovery phase.
Local organizations, like World Vision, will now address ongoing storm related issues you may have.
These are issues like home damage, missing shingles and even helping renters repair their homes.
The Executive Director of World Vision, Juanita Nixon, said her organization is prepared to help people as long as necessary.
“We basically partner together and reach out to love our neighbors as God has loved us, so we just know that that is a must. It’s not something you create, it is an inward being that makes you want to reach out and to service and to help make this what we call the Good Life City,” said Nixon.
You can call the United Way at 211 if you want to place a work order.
