ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The last day for the second round of storm debris pickup in Dougherty County is drawing near, according to officials.
The last day for the second pass of debris pickup is January 11.
“Residents are encouraged to finalize the placement of debris on the right of way of their property as quickly as possible in order to meet the deadline of the second pass,” officials said in a release.
Crews began collecting debris on January 2.
More than 770,000 cubic yards of vegetative debris has been removed from Dougherty County as of December 2018, officials said.
For 13 southwest Georgia counties combined, officials pointed out, more than 3.7 million cubic yards of debris has been removed.
