Keep Albany Dougherty Beautiful encouraging recycling in 2019

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - As the holidays wrap up, Keep Albany Dougherty Beautiful wants to remind people about recycling and what to do with those Christmas trees.

Judy Bowles, Keep Albany Dougherty Beautiful executive director, said people should take their trees and place them by their rolling trash cans.

Bowles said to make sure Christmas tress and storm debris are not together.

All your cardboard boxes, wrapping paper, aluminum cans and plastic bottles, Bowles pointed out, can be recycled.

Bowles said recycling is easy and hopes everyone will do it.

“You should get in the habit of recycling, you just do it without thinking about it. I have guests in and out of my home all the time and I have recycling containers there and they know where to put them. I would encourage everybody at their home to have recycling containers," Bowles said.

Bowles said she hopes with it being a new year that south Georgians will start recycling.
